instant gratification

There is really something to be said about waiting for Christmas morning when you were a kid. The anticipation and excitement of opening your presents is something that isn't really comparable. Buying a camera online, for example, compares in no way. I purchased a fantastic camera today online. The cost of the camera is already a transaction on my checking account, but I have no camera in my hand. :( I will be receiving it in 3-5 days... I scoff at 3-5 days. That is a really big difference. My little camera loving heart tells me it will be here before Saturday because if it isn't then I may be a postal service person creeper. I cannot wait for my wonderful camera with all of it's 3" touchscreen, 16 megapixel, 7X optical zoom glory!!!
And the winner is...

Funny story about this little baby. (Don't mistake this funny with the haha kind) I went online to order it and the only color they had was red (while red is wonderful I had my reasons for wanting to mix it up) out of all four colors, but today when I went online to get the red camera (a little bit defeated) there it was in all of it's violet brilliantness!! I am more than a little stoked about this purchase.

I will take pictures of EVERYTHING!!! (I apologize to my loved ones now)

Everything works (except for my camera)

My computer is working!!! Yay! I finished making four table runners for a wedding in Mexico which I will not be attending (so sad). (I am thankful I was invited though :) ) I will be doing some puppy sitting instead. Obviously, I love a good puppy or two.

Ms KR chose some really beautiful fabric in a mint green color.

After I sewed the fabric backward on the first one I did I became a little bit flustered with the whole thing. The first one eventually became the last one as I put off using my seam ripper on 8 1/2 feet of fabric. I ended up ripping every 8.5 feet of the seam and I even got a bit of a sneak peek of what the table at the wedding will look like. It looks very perfect and minty. The colors are brown and mint green. Imagine an Andes mint... Their wedding will be delicious :)

Technology

So my computer stopped working... Yes, this is right after my camera stopped working. I broke my computer last year... a little mishap due to me being an idiot and dropping it. I cracked the screen, but my good friend NAL fixed it and I finally got it back. Then I went to Chicago last weekend and came back and the thing was broken again. This time the screen is fine, but the plug hole is not working properly. It just will not connect to the power cord so I drove all the way to NAL's house again and he took it apart and put it together again and voila!!! Then I go to turn the thing on and it is not working... again. I am pretty much ready to throw the stupid thing out the window, but that won't do much good as I live on the first floor and the satisfaction just isn't the same when you see it land in the mud of a flower bed as opposed to a 10 story drop into a parking lot or something. Either way, I am pretty much a cancer to all things technology. I am surprised my sweet little loner computer I am using now is even working. The only thing good to me is my phone. We have been through three long years of texts and calls together and it still works like the first day I charged it. My attachment to it might be the reason I am afraid to get a new one. I have never had a phone that lasted this long.

I was pretty down about my computer not working and I went for a nice little run and as I jogged down the street I came across a squirrel in the grass next to me (totally caught me off guard and I almost tripped over my own feet) and then I realized he didn't have a face because he had been hit by a car. This is when I came to the realization that I am pretty lucky. I mean... at least I still have my face.

Boo

My camera broke and I feel lost in the world. I don't even know what to do next. I love the magicalness of capturing my world with one tiny click... Click... I will remember you forever. (I actually said that to a Czech lady when she walked in front of my camera when I was taking a picture on the Charles bridge... I don't think she spoke the English though) Seriously though, life, blogs and I am boring without some pictures to liven things up. I am trying to find the perfect camera and I am pretty sure my friend HBO owns it. It's a Nikon S6100. Hers is red and I think I have my eye on the purple one

I picked the camera purple because I have never seen a purple camera before and to be honest with you I just wanted to see a purple camera

I went to the camera store (also known as best buy) and ol' girl did not agree that this was a good pick. I told her I respectfully disagreed with her. I talked to her for a long time because her eyelashes on her right eye were white and the ones on her left were just regular black... I really enjoyed talking with her because of that. I like when people are interesting like that. I am boring with the blond all around for the lashes. She likes the Nikon S8100.
I thought it was pretty cool, but I think I just like the other one better (and not even because it looks cooler)

Alright... I just need to make a good choice. I guess I am worse at commitment than I thought :)

Masquerade

So my friend NAL had a masquerade party last Saturday and obviously Ms. HBO and I had to think of a good theme for the part-ay so I thought and thought my little heart out and I decided my theme would be peacock. I went to the store to buy some gear to make my mask and had peacock feathers in my hand when a BRILLIANT idea dawned on me. "Why didn't I think of this before?!?" I said to myself baffled by my own BRILLIANCE. I grabbed a mask, silver glitter glue, silver decorative trim (fancy string), blue sequins and blue and white feathers. This could be nothing but the ingredients to greatness...

That's right! Dallas Cowboy, baby!!! Everything good.

HBO looked amazing as a little devil and complete her outfit with a little pitchfork which she only bought after I told her she was going to poke people with it all night... apparently she was on the fence and this is what made her do it. NAL went as trollface. I honestly don't know whether to say a trollface or just trollface. I know it is a mistake to ask which is why I won't and I will just say he went as trollface. Actually, I think he was trollface dad. MH had many costumes throughout the night, but you will see him below as the horse and B is chillin in the background as half a face drinking his drink.

Here are some of the fun other people who graced us with their presence.

I do like how HBO finished it out with a dual mask here

I think it is funny how I didn't get pictures of almost everyone who came because I was busy doing my own thing and then going to be early with HBO in NAL's bed. High five, HBO, high five. We sure do know how to party :)

Neti pot

So I am sick again. I feel like I was just sick and now I am sick all over again. This is getting a little bit old. I just went to get my cough medicine from CVS, but the doctor told me I should irrigate my nose with a neti pot. All I have to say is one thing Eww. I went online to watch some videos of the neti pot and I can't even include them because it is just too gross. Let's just say it irrigates the "debris" out of your nose. I tried it for myself and it is uncomfortable and gross, but... my sinuses feel amazing. It was the best thing that could have happened to me today. That and the fact that I have good cough medicine so I can go to sleep tonight. Yay. I am seriously considering going to sleep right now... it is 7:30.
