I have been neglecting all of my wanting to learn to do everything. I have a fantastic before and I may or may not have the after prepared, but am too lazy to take a picture... and too sunburned. Being sunburned is something I don't want to learn to do.
I picked up this little number at a thrift store a few months ago for about $3 and I had some plans for it, but it seems like this had Murphy's law all over it. Every idea I had backfired something fierce. I totally rebooted and overcame though. The masterpiece shirt I created looks pretty much fantastic. Woot.
This is me looking all fly in my fantastic sailor flap dress. I really wish someone was there to take a picture of the back, but I can put up a little something something I found that will show the glamour of the sailor flap. And, yes, I am wearing a shirt underneath...I am also wearing pants.
The only thing this dress has in common with mine is the polka dots and the flap.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this dress was an old lady version of sailor moon. I can't say that I ever watched sailor moon, but my brother is a nerd so I have seen it before. Thank you, B. :)
Sailor Moon's dress is horrible. I feel like I could really Tera-rize that for her and revamp it up right nice. She also needs to cut her hair. I did that recently too. Sailor Moon, if you are reading this I can help you.
My after will be up and running tomorrow!!

I lost 12 inches!!
of hair.
So life is unavoidable and unpredictable and not controllable and the list goes on and on. Sometimes you just have to do something so you can have a little control up in that bad boy once again. Sometimes I am a little over the top when I do things and I really go all out. I decided that I was tired of my super duper long hair and I was going to make a change. My change was a little drastic.
Pony tail... I will never forget you and I hope you have a safe trip to locks of love.
I had over 12 inches of hair cut off and it has changed my outlook on life. I found myself feeling as though I am late for soccer practice. I don't even have any kids!!
I am hoping it grows pretty quickly because I don't have an extreme love for it right now. I know once it grows a few inches I will like it once more, but for now I need to figure out a good way to make it look fantastical.

Karen White
Anyone who knows me knows my extreme love for books. That is why I have been dubbed by one person as Ms. Kindle. My kindle is pretty much the most amazing thing I have ever owned (thank you, boyfriend). In the 2.5 years I have owned it I have read many, many books and plan to read more and more as I get the chance. I am always on the lookout for a good author and my mother has introduced me to one I Love love love. Her name is Karen White and she is pretty much fantastic. KAREN WHITE I started reading her books a few months ago and after today I think I have one left... It just came out on May 3rd and it is called Beach Trees. She writes books that have a lot of tragedy in them and also a lot of "What's going to happen next?" anticipation. It's actually kind of funny that I would like her considering my experience with the first book I read.
I don't like to be scared and I have a teensy bit of fear of the dark/unknown blah blah blah. Either way, I don't like to be scared and when my mother gave me these paperback books for Christmas I was a little bit hesitant to read them (and not just because that would mean I had to put down my kindle). She warned me that they were a little bit scary, but well worth it. So I started reading the first book The House On Tradd Street and it was at night and I had to make my way from the living room to the bedroom down a long/dark/scary hall. I stood by the light switch in the living room for a good five minutes before I decided to turn out the lights and run for it. I got to the door in the hall and scratched the crap out of my arm as I proceeded to run into it. (I'm pretty sure I didn't tell anyone this part of the story) So what do I do next? Well, I bleed... I bleed all the way to my room and to this day I have a little teeny tiny scar on my arm. So the obvious thing to do here would be to either STOP reading the book or read it during the day, right? Oh no... That's just not Tera-style. Instead I find myself in a similar predicament a few days later. I am pretty sure I was reading the second book The Girl on Legare Street which scared me just as much. For whatever reason I thought it would be a good idea to read at night...again... in the living room...again. This time I went to turn the lights off in the living room and absolutely convinced myself that it wasn't necessary. Since I am the only person there the only person it could possibly bother is me and I love lights. LOVE them (or so I told myself)
The moral of the story is... Move on to the other books because none of the other ones are the slightest bit scary and Karen White has a good sense of humor so you might even laugh out loud a time or two.

I've got spirit yes I do...
I went to Chicago this weekend... I know how shocked we all are about this. A lot of good things happened while I was there so I will highlight a few... (and I can because I have a CAMERA that WORKS!)
This is me and boyfriend chillin at the Cubs game
I also made a new shirt. It is pretty friggin fantastic if I do say so myself. I would say I am not one to toot my own horn, but apparently I very much am because I turned this lovely little frock...
And I created something I would actually wear and I know this to be true because I did wear it!
While I was very proud of my little creation and felt like I had really conquered something great unfortunately it paled in comparison to this guy and his fantastic team spirit.
I just don't feel that I could wear latex in the sun. To each his own

Happy B's birthday to myself
Oh my goodness gracious!! How could I ever have forgotten?!?! That's right, baby! I got my new awesome camera on my brother's birthday and I even had a chance to use it and the pictures are on the post below. YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS! It is more amazing than I could have ever imagined. Now I just need to learn how to use it well. It's a good thing I have a plane ride tomorrow. When I get tired of my kindle then I will learn my camera. (oh me oh my... when would I ever get tired of my kindle?)
Also, I have suffered from a traumatic injury. I have a muscle spasm and a neck strain. How does this happen when one bakes a cake you might ask... your guess is as good as mine.
My only thoughts are that my body never fully recovered after the near death experience with the treadmill. Oh yes, this is something I may not have shared. NAL and I attempted to run on the treadmill together. I don't know what we were thinking considering we are two of the most uncoordinated unlucky people in all the land. He put a hole in the wall and I tried to rip my arm out of my socket. Oh well. I guess all can be fixed with a little muscle relaxer and an anti inflammatory shot in the bottom. Seriously though, if it is my neck/shoulder/drivers side upper back then why would they stick you in the bum? Some things aren't meant to figure out I guess. I will just accept them and move on...like calculus.

Little B's birthday
B and his peeps went out on Monday night for the big 26! We ate pizza at urbancrust and then had cakes. That's right, Cakes. Plural cakes. One big cake and one teeny tiny cake. The little smash cake was for B only :) We had a great time celebrating the big day while enjoying some fabulous company and food. I am pretty sure B had a fabulous time. I mean, who wouldn't with all of the fab food and fun and all.
B had a little jokey joke played on him by none other than HBO. He picked up his gift from her filled with his favorite peanut butter candies and the bottom fell right out. Oh how priceless.
And look at Miss HBO beaming with all of her cleverness.

Baby shower
So we had a baby shower at my work on Friday for one of my coworkers wives. They were due to have their baby on May 9th or something like that I believe. I could be way off, but I do know the baby was not due the day of the shower and I also know it was not in the shower plans for her to be in labor during the shower. I haven't gone to a lot of my showers in my day, but the ones I have gone to did not end with the mommy to be going to the hospital just after. It was very interesting to say the least.
I made little cupcakes in the shape of rattles with strawberry icing from Sprinkles cupcakes.
My cupcakes originally were supposed to be doubly Sprinkles Cupcake recipe, but when the cupcakes themselves turned out with the consistency comparable to a brick I had to have a bit of a reboot. The second go round turned out just fine and it was not a Sprinkles recipe. The icing was like strawberry crack though. I can't say I am super familiar with crack, but I read about crack addicts and I expect they could easily be addicted to this icing just as well.
