I went with my bff, HBO, to look for our new apartment. We do not currently live together and I am a little worried that it might ruin our friendship, but she says nay so I guess we are going to chance it and take the plunge. It sounds so easy, right?
Wrong. So wrong. We looked for apartments yesterday for close to 10 hours yesterday. We had a break in the middle, but we looked at SoOOoooooOOOOOOO many. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I am a person who likes to be in control. I like to know all of my options and do the whole educated decision thing. Well, HBO and I are the same person. Trying to find an apartment with someone who is the same person is harder than it may sound. Apparently, when you are the same person you can still have different ideas about what is most important. And there is not a single apartment that has everything you both want.
Moving is the worst, but apartment leasing agents are hilarious. One agent agreed with everything we said and was super excited about it. There were really serious, boring ones, some fun ones and then the one that I embarrassed because I commented on his light saber ringtone. If you put it on your phone you totally shouldn't be embarrassed when someone points it out, right? I think I liked him the best :)
I think we have it narrowed down to just a few and they don't open until one today which means I have to miss part of the Cowboys game to go to two apartments I have already seen before and don't really feel like seeing again, but know I have to. Oh well. I will be back to watch the second half.
Looking for apartments is boring.

Cold front
I came home tonight and really felt like going for a jog. On the way home things were fine, but once I pulled into my alley the dark clouds started rolling through and the wind was blowing really hard. I told my grandmother I really wanted to run, but she warned me of falling tree branches and was afraid I would get hurt. My initial reaction in my head was. 'Oh, wow. No, I don't want to do that. That sounds horrible.', but now that I sit here and think about it I am getting the feeling the odds of that happening are so slim so I did what any normal person would do... I googled it.
Google said Gramma was wrong. It just doesn't happen. Trees fall because of storms and people cutting them down. Trees have fallen on cars and houses during storms and such... There was an instance of a coconut tree falling on someone, but lucky for me there are no coconut trees here (or unlucky because coconut is delicious). I guess the wind was pretty bad so there is a chance it could have fallen. I don't have the best luck in the world so if it happened to anyone it probably would have happened to me.
I guess I will feel like anyone should feel in this situation... I feel like I narrowly escaped a brush with death.
Also, Happy Birthday to the lovely woman who just saved my life. I love you, Gramma.
