I came home tonight and really felt like going for a jog. On the way home things were fine, but once I pulled into my alley the dark clouds started rolling through and the wind was blowing really hard. I told my grandmother I really wanted to run, but she warned me of falling tree branches and was afraid I would get hurt. My initial reaction in my head was. 'Oh, wow. No, I don't want to do that. That sounds horrible.', but now that I sit here and think about it I am getting the feeling the odds of that happening are so slim so I did what any normal person would do... I googled it.
Google said Gramma was wrong. It just doesn't happen. Trees fall because of storms and people cutting them down. Trees have fallen on cars and houses during storms and such... There was an instance of a coconut tree falling on someone, but lucky for me there are no coconut trees here (or unlucky because coconut is delicious). I guess the wind was pretty bad so there is a chance it could have fallen. I don't have the best luck in the world so if it happened to anyone it probably would have happened to me.
I guess I will feel like anyone should feel in this situation... I feel like I narrowly escaped a brush with death.
Also, Happy Birthday to the lovely woman who just saved my life. I love you, Gramma.
